Microsoft Make Changes To MS Points Purchasing

Microsoft Points allow users to purchase content at the click of a button. In North America, Microsoft have changed the way points are sold from their usual incrememts of 500 to better match the pricing of provided Marketplace content.

The Microsoft Points system has been criticised in the past for being deceptive because gamers often needed to purchase more points than what are immediately needed. If downloadable content was released at 800 points you would normally have to buy a block of 1000 points to cover it, but from now due to a recent change you can purchase points in blocks of 400, 800, 1600 or 4000. Currently this allows gamers to purchase the right amount of points for the content required without needing to pay that bit extra to have 100 or 200 left hanging around in your account.

Unfortunately the Microsoft Points Purchasing system has not been changed worldwide and it is unknown if it is ever likely too.
